2025 Award Top Employer Switzerland and Top Employer Europe

Lucerne, 16 January 2025. For the 13th consecutive year, MSD Switzerland has been certified as a Top Employer. This recognition, awarded by the independent Top Employers Institute, highlights the company’s unwavering commitment to fostering an exceptional work environment and supporting the development of its employees. The certification once again confirms that MSD Switzerland not only meets but exceeds globally recognized standards in many areas.

MSD, one of the world’s leading biopharmaceutical companies, has once again earned the exclusive certifications of “Top Employer Switzerland” and “Top Employer Europe” from the independent Top Employers Institute. The certification is based on a rigorous evaluation process comprising over 100 questions covering six HR domains consisting of 18 topics including People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Wellbeing and more.   

Outstanding results and continued progress compared to previous years

Compared to previous years, MSD Switzerland has further improved its results across several categories. The company achieved remarkable results across all categories, with particularly high scores in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), Career Development, and Leadership. These achievements reflect the company’s strategic focus on fostering an inclusive environment that empowers employees to thrive professionally.

Additionally, the certification highlights MSD Switzerland’s strengths in Ethics & Integrity, Work Environment, Well-being, and Sustainability – core values that shape and sustain the company’s corporate culture.

Diversity and inclusion at MSD Switzerland

The Top Employer certification is based on a comprehensive HR audit conducted in four phases: kick-off, survey, validation, and certification. The survey includes detailed questions related to an organization’s HR policies and practices. Six HR areas are assessed, covering 18 topics, including: People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Well-being, and Diversity & Inclusion. Finally, the company’s performance is benchmarked against international standards.
